Karviná Handball Cup 2005
12th Karviná Cup 24-27 August 2005
12th issue of the youth tournament Karviná Handball Cup was organized from 25 to 27 August in six cities of North Moravian region. The tournament matches were played in 8 indoor halls and on 4 outdoor playing fields in the cities Karviná, Havířov, Orlová, Třinec, Český Těšín, and Horní Suchá. The group matches were played on Thursday and Friday, the final matches were scheduled on Saturday.147 youth teams from seven European countries (Croatia, Estonia, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, and Czech Republic) participated this year. More than 2 000 young handball players played in five girl’s and in five boy’s categories 494 matches and scored 11 557 goals. 60 referees whistled the tournament matches. Many cultural and social events organized by the city Karviná and HC Baník Karviná including concerts of disco and rock bands, DISCO SHOW “Open Air” and fireworks took place during the tournament.
