Karviná Handball Cup 2009
16th Karviná Handball Cup 19-22 August 2009
16th issue of the youth tournament Karviná Handball Cup was organized from 19 to 22 August in seven cities of North Moravian region. The tournament matches were played in 9 indoor halls and on one outdoor playing field in the cities Karviná, Havířov, Orlová, Třinec, Stonava, Český Těšín, and Horní Suchá. The group matches were played on Thursday and Friday, the final matches were scheduled on Saturday. Exactly one hundred youth teams from eight European countries (Croatia, Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, and Czech Republic) participated this year. During the tournament 1475 young handball players played in five girl’s and in five boy’s categories 345 matches and scored 9198 goals. Fifty referees from Slovakia and Czech Republic whistled the tournament matches.
